We got ours from Al Coritz about a month ago. Not sure the hatch date, but looks a lot like yours. We also picked up a pair of Wetar Island Pit Vipers,
Cryptelytrops insularis. The taipan and the Wetar's will be on display later this year after they grow up a little.

That is... quite a collection. Very beautiful things to look at pictures of, but I have to admit that I am glad youre on the other side of the US
really, venomus snakes have to be in my like.. top 5 fears tho. very very beautiful, incredibly scarry.
edit: i was actually thinking that green mamba looked alot like a red tailed green rat, not the head and face so much, but the body and scales are really similar.

Yeah, that came from the same clutch as my male. The hatch date was in 7/2006. How are your C. insularis doing? Fascinating snakes huh?

The C. insularis are doing great. Still only taking live (don't pull out the flame thrower, they're WC.) They are both actually blue right now, this will be the second shed in our care, and we have only had them since the last Hamburg show. I think you got the other taipan we are gonna get, but he said he only had one left. Keep me updated on how its doing. A little while a go we got a few Ottoman vipers, some Palestine vipers, a few sawscales, and a bunch of others. I love his stuff, he's a great guy. Did you deal with him directly?

I have known Al for about four years. The majority of the snakes he gets is from a friend of mine who has recently been importing. For anyone who flames you for feeding live, don't worry about it as I have some snakes who will only feed on live mice as well. The adult female D. angusticeps pictured above only feeds on live adult mice as well as my C. insularis which take live hoppers. The D. angusticeps use to take p/k or f/t but totally refuses those items now and only wants live.

The not flaming comment was not directed at you Joe, there are just those people here that will turn this into a debate over feeding, not a conversation about beautiful snakes. I (personally, not the zoo) have a few Boiga species that used to take f/t and now only take live too. Still trying to figure this one out. F/T for years then bang, and one will even only take live scented with chicken meat, go figure. Sorry to hijack this thread, it just turned into something interesting. Very nice snakes by the way. I always look forward to your posts.
