Restrictions in different countries.
Hi all
Ive kept snakes for a few years now and not really paid much attention to legislation and restrictions on keeping reptiles.
Here in the UK you can keep pretty much whatever you like provided it is not listed as a 'Dangerous Wild Animal.'
This Act outlaws keeping lions, tigers, bears and other such animals. of course venomous snakes appear on here too. however you can apply for a license to keep such an animal if you are found to be fit and proper.
what i dont get is the restrictions of some states in the US and more specifically Canada!-some provinces dont let you keep snakes longer than 3 metres, others will not allow you to keep any boid/boa/python. what the #$%^&#$%^&#$%^&#$%^& is up with that?
i thought laws in the UK were tight but looking at what you overseas lot are subjected to its ridiculous. is there any reason/justification for these restrictions?

Re: Restrictions in different countries.
The only restriction I am aware of in Canada is the restriction on large boids in Nova Scotia. Mostly, there is no real legislation here that I am aware of.
