I know that the belly turns pink around the time it sheds but my snake shedded not too long ago. Also the scales on the belly looks a little rough. it looks like dried brown edges. and hes been less active than usual (and i know this is normal during winter) but can it be possible that he's sick from something?

Sometimes when snake bellies get pink and scales start to rot, it could be a few different things:
septicemia, scale rot, or a type of salmonella infection (not to sure on what that is called specifically)

Also, if your using a UTH, it may be too hot, that could cause similar problems.

Best to have a qualified vet take a look, scale and blood problems can escalate fairly quickly and need to addressed quickly.

Hi Rabbit...

What I do when I take a snake to a vet is bag it in a pillow case and put the pillowcase in a tupperware tote. It works marvelously. If it is cold in your area, make sure you pre-heat the car.

Good luck!
